Whats' New:

1. An awareness programme on Road Safety and Meghalaya Police Act 2010, was held at romgre Bazar in Dadenggre, on the 10th May 2018. In the programme SI B. Blah, OC Dadenggre dwelled at length on importance of abiding by traffic rules and regulation. Information about Meghalaya Police Act was also shared with the general public, especially regarding the extend of the Act’s jurisdiction and the penalties as imposed under the Act.

2. In connection with Road Safety Week 2018, Tura Traffic Branch organized a variety of programmes from 24th April 2018 to 30th April 2018, which are:

a. On 24th April 2018, Tura Traffic Branch in collaboration with District Transport Officer, organized the programme at Sohra Complex, Tura, in which Shri. Challang G. Momin, MPS, SDPO Raksamgre, Shri. Netra Rai I/C Traffic branch, traffic personnel and staffs from DTO delivered speeches on Road Safety.

b. On 25th April 2018, Tura Traffic Branch organized a road rally which started from Tura PS and proceeded towards main points/junctions such as Hawakhana junction, CS junction etc. The rally was flagged by Shri. Challang G. Momin, MPS, SDPO Raksamgre and concluded at the PS, the rally was attended by all officers and men of Tura Traffic Branch and Tura Auto Association.

c. A programme was held at Don Bosco Hogher secondary School, Tura, in which students and teachers participated in the programme. Shri. John C. A. Sangma, MPS, Dy. S.P. (HQ), SI N. Rai, I/C Traffic branch and SI M. Chettri I/C CCIC addressed the occasion.

3. Road Safety Awareness programme was organized on 28th April 2018 by the Officer-in Charge of Hallidayganj Police Station Shri. Z. I. Khan, within its premises. Commercial drivers and general public attended the programme and they were enlightened about Road Safety and the various provisions of M. V. Act.

4. Road Safety Awareness programme was organized 29th April 2018 by the Officer-in Charge of Phulbari Police Station, President/Secretaries of Auto Association, V.D.P. Secretaries and general public participated in the awareness programme. CI (W) Shri. W. R. Marak, OC Shri. B. Thapa and SI L. Pyrbot articulated on traffic rules and regulations, and empasised on road safety. The attendees of the programme were requested to carry the message and to passed on to others so as to spread the message of road safety.

5. A Guidance programme in connection with the Army recruitment Rally 2018, was held in collaboration with District Administration Tura, and CRPF 120 Bn Dakopgre, on 03rd May 2018, at Dikki Bandi Stadium, Dakopgre, West Garo Hills. In the programme Deputy Commissioner, West Garo Hills, Tura Shri. Ram Singh, IAS and Superintendent of Police, West Garo Hills, Tura Dr. m. G. R. Kumar, IPS, dwelled on various topics regarding the recruitment.
